My wife and I have used Chadbourne + Doss architects twice, first for our primary residence and then again for a backyard cottage. We wouldn't have used them again if we had not been extremely pleased with their service the first time! Having a team work for you felt like we were getting a "two for one" deal. Lisa and Daren’s recommendations always seemed like the best solution. We loved how extensive their research was into our tastes and preferences, and their ability to work within our budget, both when we needed to economize and when we wanted to splurge. Their service is truly "turnkey" in that they took our ideas and dreams and turned them into reality including interfacing with the general contractor, inspectors, etc. while being incredibly responsive. I recommend them without any reservations.

We were 100 percent happy with their process: c + d worked together, not by rubber stamping each other, but by refining each other's ideas. And we felt heard in ways that were respectful and empowering. Our project had tight constraints, both physically and financially and c+d used these constraints creatively and practically. The resulting structure is efficient, environmentally resourceful and durable. c +d offered incredible value to our entire project. Lisa and Daren helped us realize a beautiful contemporary reworking of our 1920s house from kitchen to deck to backyard; steering us through design and construction and to small projects beyond. They are bright and kind with wonderful eyes for materials. We have eagerly followed their ground up projects with other clients as well and admire their vision for light and balance in their work. chadbourne + doss is a fantastic firm. We have used them for multiple projects, and they have always delivered! I love that they get to know our needs, and are fantastic listeners, but still bring good opinions and tradeoffs to all the tough decisions in remodels and design-from-scratch. We've worked with chadbourne + doss on a few projects and it has been a fantastic experience. They bring a strong vision and considerable experience to their work all while being thoughtful partners to their clients and really listening to the requirements we shared. It felt like they were our guides through the entire design and build process and they worked hard to establish trust in order to execute on a shared vision. They took the fear out of the entire process. I think that is pretty rare in the world of architecture especially from a team that has such a strong aesthetic.
